Pilates

Why Pilates?

Pilates is a highly effective movement method that focuses on mobilising all the major joints of the body, with an emphasis on proper alignment and mindful muscle engagement. By moving with precision and intention, Pilates helps the body work more efficiently—leading to a wide range of wellbeing benefits, both physical and emotional.

Consistent practice can improve posture, increase mobility, build core strength, and create greater ease of movement. But don’t just take our word for it, our clients regularly share the real, lasting benefits they’ve experienced from attending classes. Here’s what they had to say:

“I’ve been attending Hot HIIT Pilates since November and I absolutely love it. Harry is a wonderful teacher and the atmosphere he creates is welcoming, energetic and inclusive. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my strength and cardio, but also my mental health has had a boost from making the effort to actually go out to a class. It’s a great set up with lots to offer.”
– G Willingdale

What to Expect in Class

Our Pilates classes are mat-based and may include small props like resistance bands, balls, and magic circles to offer support or add challenges, depending on your needs. All classes are inclusive and, unless otherwise noted, open to all levels. Our experienced teachers skilfully tailor exercises to suit complete beginners while also providing progression options for more advanced students.

New to Pilates? Start Here

If you’re new to Pilates, we highly recommend joining our Beginners Course, which runs several times throughout the year. This six-week course introduces the foundational exercises and principles that underpin the Pilates method, helping you develop sound movement patterns and body awareness.

Class sizes are kept small to ensure you receive individual attention and support, giving you the strongest foundation from which to grow your practice.

Specialised Courses

In addition to our regular classes, we offer themed courses throughout the year based on client interest and feedback. These have included:

  • Pilates for Athletes
  • Stretch & Release
  • Pilates for Skiers

We’re always open to new ideas, let us know what you’d love to see on the schedule!

Our Teachers

All of our teachers are highly qualified, experienced professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping others move well and feel great.

Collectively, they have thousands of hours of teaching experience, and many hold specialist certifications in areas such as:

  • Lower back pain
  • Bone health
  • Pregnancy & postnatal Pilates

Each teacher has their own unique style, but all stay true to the core principles of Pilates—particularly the ABCs:

  • Alignment – of joints and body
  • Breath – used to support and stabilise movement
  • Centring – engaging the core to create control and balance

Our team regularly attends continuing education courses to keep their skills fresh and up to date. You can learn more about each of them here, but the best way to get to know them is to come along and join a class!
