Join Bex this March at the award-winning Suryalila, the Luxury Yoga Retreat Centre in Andalusia. Restore and explore yourself and your creativity in this unique retreat offering for midlife wellbeing.

Bex went last March with Bryony (Be Yoga) and Kate (Love Sober) and has 5 places available for Optimum students.

Together we will explore the holistic toolkit of movement, hormonal health, nutrition and creativity as we carve out space to move intentionally into our through our midlife in order to bring ourselves back into balance.

We find delicious spaces of flow to retreat from the busyness of life, process our experiences and build creative tools to thrive as we deepen and enhance our enjoyment of life.

What to expect:

Blending expertly-delivered, mindful and trauma-informed yoga classes for all levels with creative workshops, based on the Science of Happiness and Positive Psychology we carve out precious time to nurture, discover, rediscover. Combining somatics and yoga wisdom with creative writing & personal tools this is a truly holistic opportunity to further or begin your creativity experience and yoga journey.

No previous experience needed, just this is permission to play, connect and explore!

Tools of mindful movement, connection with others and spaces of flow are power tools in the midlife  toolkit. Together we will explore, create, play and build resilience in both mind and body to nurture the joyful living.

What’s on Offer

Yoga with Bryony

Practice yoga in the incredible Om yoga dome overlooking panoramic view of the hillside and in the Moon Shall and Ganesh Shala. Bryony has been teaching yoga for two decades to all ages and capacities and practices an intuitive yoga practice where you are guided by your body under her expert guidance and support.

Senior yoga instructor, yoga therapist and experienced teacher trainer Bryony is the founder of Be-Yoga Centre in Hayward’s Heath, Sussex, with 13 years and 10000+ hours of teaching, she brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her classes and training programmes.

Bryony is a hugely experienced senior yoga instructor, yoga therapist and experienced teacher trainer. She is a legend in the yoga world, trained with Shiva Rae  and Kate says she swears that Bryony  will change how you experience yoga or she will buy you a smoothie!

Morning Pranayama

Before breakfast (and a cold water plunge ?)  We explore a variety of ways to start or deepen your meditation practice including breathwork, mindfulness, mantra and mala in the tranquil Moon Shala, as the sun climbs over the hillside.  

Morning Mindful Flow

Each morning we meet mid morning to do our most dynamic practice and catch that morning energy! Bryony’s Mindful Flow is suitable for all levels.  

Afternoon Restorative Practice

Each afternoon we explore restorative practices to rest and restore, including yin postures, yoga nidra and sound bath.

Joy Meditation

Inspired by her tuition with the pioneering yoga teacher Shiva Rae, Bryony guides us in joyful movement to bangin’ tunes in the Om Dome at dark. A truly incredible experience.  

Kirtan

Together we explore singing together in Ganesh Shala by candlelight. Singing is scientifically proven to lift the spirits and reduce stress and this is an opportunity to learn and experience this with Bryony and Kate. No experience is necessary. As Bryony says ‘If you can breathe you can sing’ !

Creative Writing  sessions with Kate

Kate was a national press journalist and is the author of two books. She will guide you through a range of creative practices to encourage confidence and enjoyment, play and flow in your writing.

Menopause Doula Sessions

Midlife, Perimenopause and Menopause information and guidance, sobriety, holistic wellness coaching and menopause mapping with Kate.

These need to be booked separately before the retreat. Subject to availability.

Establishing a Journaling Practice

We will look at how to identify and establish a rhythm and style of journaling that suits you and your life. With prompts taken from the work of Elizabeth Gilbert and her own books, Kate will guide you in a variety of journaling techniques throughout the week. We build on the morning pranayama to link the journalling as a powerful reflective practice.

Sobriety Workshops  – Grey Area Dinking Explained

Kate is an ICF accredited holistic life and wellbeing coach, public speaker, the host of Love Sober Podcast and founder of Love Sober CIC. Her mission is to rebrand alcohol free living as founded in self care and self empowerment, and as a positive,  joyful and creative way to live. She has been a major player in the rise of the Sober Curious movement, appearing on BBC Women’s Hour and regularly in the National Press, a panelist at Club Sober Mindful Drinking Festival and as a speaker for and host of online gatherings for International organisation She Recovers.

Other facilities

You may wish to enjoy the salt water swimming pool and eco sauna, award winning food, wander around the olive groves and organic gardens or book a horse ride or massage. You can rest and retreat in

The Garden of Stillness or enjoy some retail therapy in 3 pagodas Shakti Boutique Shop.

Take the meandering path lined with aromatic lavender and rosemary bushes through the glamping area dotted with yurts, teepees and mini domes. Carry on past the magnificent Om Dome, and our celebratory Banyan Tree encircled with brightly coloured flags, and eventually you’ll find the stunning meditation garden.

ACCOMMODATION

Your stay will be in the designer accommodations, lovingly created by Surialilyas owners, Eco Casas or Luxury Glamping yurts, sharing and solo options are available.

The beautiful private double rooms with ensuite bathrooms are part of the original cortijo farm house, either as stand alone rooms, or in our shared Govinda house with a cosy communal seating area. The ensuite bathroom has a tiled shower, WC and plenty of storage for your belongings.

Separate and shared bathroom. Outdoor showers with open tops and eco-toilets and stunning views on Andalusian hills.

The accommodation packages are all inclusive. You will enjoy three gourmet vegetarian buffet-style meals per day, yoga spaces & props and have full access to all of the beautiful common areas and facilities – salt water swimming pool and sauna.

Horse riding and massage treatments can be booked on request.
